MOAD To Feature Three One-Person Exhibitions In November

The College’s Museum of Art and Design will present three one-person exhibitions from Nov. 6 through May 1 of 2022. The featured artists are Hreinn Fridfinnsson, Jorge Pardo and Loriel Beltrán.

Hreinn Fridfinnsson’s, For the Time Being, will be making its American museum debut. His artwork uses minimal gestures to transform regular items into poetic and allusive pieces.

Jorge Pardo’s Mongrel features a series of quasi-abstract illustrations that include modernist chairs, a carpet and custom-made chandeliers. His work is inspired by his memories as a refugee, moments from his childhood and the Freedom Tower.

The last exhibition is presented by Loriel Beltrán, a New World School of the Arts alumnus that features his recent paintings. Constructed Color is a mixture of abstract colors that form dense and opaque illusions.

Exhibitions can be seen on the second floor of Miami Dade College’s Freedom Tower, 600 Biscayne Blvd.

Museum admission is free for MOAD members, MDC students, faculty, staff and for children 12 and under. For museum hours go to: www.moadmdc.org/visit/overview
