The Museum of Art and Design will host MOAD Talks with sports journalist Michelle Kaufman on Sept. 23 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Freedom Tower, 600 Biscayne Blvd.
Amy Galpin, executive director of the MOAD, will lead a conversation with Kaufman, a longtime Miami Herald sportswriter who has covered seven World Cups and 14 Olympic Games.
The discussion will include Kaufman’s experiences covering international sporting events, the changing field of sports journalism and behind the scenes stories from her interviews with athletes, including Inter Miami player Lionel Messi.
Kaufman, who was born in Frederick, Maryland, and raised in Miami, has worked as a sportswriter for 40 years. She graduated from the University of Miami in 1987 and has covered events including Wimbledon, the French Open, U.S. Open, NCAA Final Four, World Series and NBA Finals.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
