Museum of Art + Design And Dimensions Variable Form Partnership

Miami Dade College’s Museum of Art + Design and Dimensions Variable (DV) have formed a partnership to establish a stronger tie between the College and local artists.

Jeremy Mikolajczak, executive director and chief curator of MDC’s Museum and Galleries of Art + Design, said the partnership will help broaden the diversity of both organizations’ programs and bring more local artists’ work to the College’s galleries.

Dimensions Variable was founded by fiber artist Frances Trombly and visual artist Leyden Rodriguez-Casanova in 2009 as an exhibition space committed to the presentation and support of contemporary art. They provide a collaborative exchange with artists and institutions. It was started as an artist-run space.

Dimensions Variable will also help establish an internship program for MDC art students, promote arts and culture, provide future lectures and workshops, and commit to presenting an annual student exhibition. An exhibit of Dimension Variable artist’s work will open in September of 2016 at the MDC Wolfson Centre Gallery at Wolfson Campus 300 N.E. Second Ave. building 1, 3rd floor. The exhibits are free and open to the public. For more information, call MOAD at 305-237-7710.
