New President At Kendall Campus

Kendall Campus President, Lourdes Oroza, has only been on the job for a few months, but she is no stranger to Miami Dade College.

In 1998, Oroza started at MDC’s Interamerican Campus where she served as the Business and Computer Information Systems Chair, as well as the Chair for Community Education and Distance Education. In 2003, Oroza then moved to the Wolfson Campus, serving as Dean of Academic Affairs until 2008.

She has spent the past two years as the provost for the South Campus at Broward College.

Oroza is a graduate of Miami Senior High.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in French from Tulane University in Louisiana, and a master’s degree in education from the University of Miami. In 1997,  she got her doctorate’s in adult education and human resource development from Florida International University.

“This is a natural progression for my career,” said Oroza, concerning her latest position as Kendall Campus president. “I have been here for two months now, and I’ve been talking to faculty, students, my administrative team, as I learn more about the campus.”
