North Campus Appoints New Director Of Aquatic And Fitness Center

Zulema Rodriguez was selected as the new director of the Aquatic and Fitness Center at North Campus. She started on Oct. 18.

Rodriguez, 34, will manage and oversee the budget and overall operation of the facility and implement programs, such as cooking demonstrations and fitness assessments.

“My goals are not only to promote a sense of health and wellbeing to members, but also to support and assist my team in their professional growth,” Rodriguez said.

Before coming to Miami Dade College, Rodriguez served as the assistant manager of the health center at the Discovery Channel for four and a half years and she conducted private nutrition and fitness consultations for two years.

Rodriguez obtained a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Barry University in 2015 and a master’s degree in nutrition and exercise physiology from the University of Miami in 2019. She received her license as a dietician and nutritionist from the State of Florida in 2020 as a certified Nutrition Specialist.
