North Campus Has A New Director of Retention and Transition Services

Barbara Pryor will serve as the North Campus director of Retention and Transition Services. She started her new post on Nov. 14 after six years of service as the director of Single Stop.

In her new position, she will develop and evaluate the Advisement and Career Department, the ACCESS Department and the TRIO program, all of which are part of Student Support Services.

Pryor said she is excited about the opportunity to work on retention and transition goals with an interdisciplinary group of colleagues

During her time at Miami Dade College, Pryor has been responsible for launching the Single Stop program and other retention services, which has leveraged $35 million in benefits for students.

With a master’s in public administration from Nova Southeastern University and a bachelor’s from Florida A&M University, she has another 14 years of experience in nonprofit sectors, including student retention initiatives and grant development.
