North Campus Selects Homer Vallejo As Director Of Recruitment Services

Homer Vallejo has been appointed as the new Director of Recruitment Services at North Campus.

Vallejo, 32, will work with pre-college advisors to ensure high school students successfully transfer into Miami Dade College. He has served as the senior staff associate at North Campus since 2019.

“I feel very honored,” Vallejo said. “I spent some time here at MDC working as a pre-college advisor beforehand and I feel like the administration has given me an opportunity to come here to shine.”

Before joining MDC, Vallejo worked at Lindenwood University in St. Louis, Missouri for four years in a variety of capacities including as an undergraduate admissions counselor and a wrestling coach.

He previously served as an interventionist for the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Migrant Program and a program coordinator for the Mexican-American Council, a nonprofit organization that focuses on college readiness for immigrant students.

Vallejo graduated from the University of Miami with a bachelor’s degree in sports administration in 2010. Seven years later, he received a master’s degree in education from Lindenwood University.
