North Campus To Host Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Run And Walk

Miami Dade College and The Women’s Breast & Heart Initiative are hosting the PINK WALK 2021 5k Run and Walk on Sept. 26 from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Participants can attend the event virtually or in-person. In-person attendees have the option to walk or run five miles at North Campus. Virtual participants are encouraged to walk or run at a local park, beach or neighborhood. 

The race fee is $25 through Sept. 24. After the deadline, the fee is $30.

Participants can pick up their Pink Walk Packet, which includes a T-shirt and bib, on Sept. 25 from noon to 4 p.m. at iRun Miami 5050 Biscayne Blvd, suite 103. Virtual participants can pick them up at 14125 NW 80th Ave suite 306, in Miami Lakes, Lakes or pay a fee to have them shipped. 

The purpose of the event is to raise $20,000 for the Women’s Breast & Heart Initiative, an organization that provides at-risk women protection and early detection needed to beat the odds of breast cancer and heart disease.
