NWSA Named National Magnet School Of Excellence

Miami Dade College’s New World School of the Arts was named a National Magnet School of Excellence by the Magnet Schools of America. 

The award honors the top magnet schools in the country. 

NWSA was judged based on their student academic achievement, diversity efforts, curriculum innovation and quality of education.  

Contessa Bryant, NWSA’s principal, will receive the award on behalf of the school during an awards ceremony at Magnet Schools of America’s 39th National Conference hosted in Nevada on April 18-22.

Nicole Molina, 18, is a mass communication and political science major in the Honors College at Kendall Campus. Molina, who graduated from Florida Christian School in 2021, will serve as a staff writer for The Reporter during the 2022-2023 school year. She aspires to pursue a career in law.
