NWSA To Host Selected Works Exhibit

The New World School of the Arts will host the Selected Works From The NWSA Collection art exhibition from Nov. 17 through Jan. 26.

Curated by the dean of visual arts Gustavo Plascencia and gallery assistant Maria “Fern” Palmas, the exhibit will showcase art from the 1980s and ‘90s donated by Latin American artists such as Guillimero Trujio, Miguel Padura and Maria Martinez-Cañas, who serves as an associate professor and oversees the photography department at NWSA. 

Works displayed will include oil and acrylic paintings, photographs and mixed media. 

The exhibit will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the New World Gallery, 25 N.E. 2nd St., in Room 5101.

Isabella Arce

Isabella Arce, 18, is a pre-nursing major in The Honors College at Kendall Campus. Arce, who graduated from Downtown Doral Charter Upper School in 2023, will serve as a staff writer for The Reporter during the 2023-2024 school year. She aspires to be an international travel nurse, specializing in emergency care or pediatrics.
