Going Bongos: Daniel Chavarria, drummer for IFE-ILE plays for an audience at the Afro-Cuban Festival pre-launch on August 9 at Wolfson Campus. The event was held to promote the Afro-Cuban Festival which took place on August 11 at the Little Haiti Cultural Arts Center. IFE-ILE is a non-profit organization that raises awareness of the Afro-Cuban culture through the arts.

Wounded Warrior: West Campus student Rafael Frometta wore a purple ribbon to commemorate Purple Heart Day on Aug. 7. Purple ribbons and flyers were distributed around West Campus to honor those who have been wounded or killed in battle. All eight MDC campuses held different events to honor Purple Heart Day.
