Point Foundation Scholarship Open For LGBTQ Students

Point logo.LGBTQ students can now apply for the POINT Foundation Scholarship. The deadline is Jan. 30. Every year, Point Foundation grants lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer or questioning (LGBTQ) students scholarships to aid financial burdens in education.

Miami Dade College LGBTQ students are eligible for the general scholarship, which is valued at $10,000 for their transfer school or the community college scholarship at $3,700 for the next academic year at MDC.

The requirements include a proven financial need and track record of leadership and community involvement. After the application closes, semifinalists will be notified to submit further materials and conduct a phone interview. Finalists will be notified in late March.

Each Point Scholar is paired with a mentor and participates in many leadership programs and events. They also agree to maintain academic excellence and conduct a community service project for the LGTBQ community.
