Recent Acquisitions + Highlights from Miami Dade College’s Permanent Collection

Recent Acquisitions + Highlights, the MDC Museum of Art + Design’s (MOA+D) first long format installation, is on view at the Freedom Tower, 600 Biscayne Blvd., on the second floor. The exhibit is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., and every third Saturday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The exhibition includes pieces from the College’s extensive collection which includes work by artists of Cuban descent and others. Artists in the show include: Alex Katz, Ana Mendieta, Andres Serrano, Andy Warhol, Benjamin West, Claus Oldenburg, Donald Judd, Frank Stella, John Baldessari, Jose Bedia, Joseph Beuys, Louise Nevelson, Mario Algaze, Pat Lipsky, Peter Saul, Roy Lichtenstein, and many others.

The Miami Dade College permanent collection consists of more than 1,700 works in all mediums and genres, including painting, sculpture, works on paper, photography, video, film, installation and public sculpture.

The gallery is free and open to the public.
