Reporter Photo Editor To Intern At Miami Herald

Omar Negrin, who serves as the photo editor for The Reporter, has landed a ten-week internship at the Miami Herald. He started in August.

Negrin, 21, has taken photos for the Reporter for the past year. His work has appeared in the news, sports, A\E, briefing and photo briefing sections.

“A dream come true,” Negrin said about his internship at the Herald.

He was the president of the photo club at Kendall Campus. Negrin is the current owner of OAN Photography Corporation where he shoots weddings, conceptual art, birthday parties and art exhibits.

His interest in photography started during his senior year at G. Holmes Braddock Senior High School.

“One day I picked up my dad’s camera and started taking pictures,” Negrin said. “People told me that I was really good and had an eye for it.”

He aspires to become a photojournalist.
