SAS Student Awarded Full-Tuition POSSE Scholarship

School for Advanced Studies senior Maria Bravo is one of 10 POSSE scholars in the country selected to attend Franklin & Marshall College on a full-tuition scholarship.

Bravo, 18, will pursue a pre-med pathway at the university this upcoming fall.

“Thanks to the Posse scholarship, the faraway dream of medical school and the desire to pursue a career in the medical field is now within reach,” Bravo said. “Thousands of doors leading to ‘once in a lifetime opportunities’ have opened up for me, and I am forever grateful for that.”

Bravo was selected through the Dynamic Assessment Process to identify ambitious, talented students beyond their grades and test scores.

In order to be eligible for a POSSE scholarship, high school students must be in the first semester of their senior year, demonstrate leadership through their extra-curricular activities and apply by the Miami region deadline in August.

Students must be nominated by their high school or community-based organization at www.possefoundation.org/nominator-login.

For more information about the scholarship, go to www.possefoundation.org.
