After graduating from Miami Dade College in 2011, de Armas, transferred to the University of Florida. While in Gainesville, de Armas produced, reported, and anchored for WUFT, a student-run TV station owned by UF and also worked as a part-time reporter at WCJB TV 20, an ABC affiliate.
