Yvette Sheran was promoted to Miami Dade College-West Director of Advisement & Career Services. She started her new position in Oct. 2014, and will oversee the Advisement & Career Services, ACCESS and functions of the New Student Center.
Sheran has served in various capacities at MDC including Student Life Director, Student Government Association Advisor, Assistant to Director of Student Administrative Service and Campus Services Supervisor at MDC-West. Sheran started at the College as a trouble clerk at the Kendall Campus in 1999 and later moved on to work as a clerk in the InterAmerican Campus in 2000 prior to moving to MDC-West.
“I believe that my experience assisting advisement in the past during peak registration periods, as well as my time as Student Life Manager and Student Government Association Advisor played a large role in the experience I needed to obtain this position,” Sheran said.
Sheran obtained her Associate in Arts degree in Special Education from MDC in 1999, her Bachelors Degree in Business Marketing from Florida International University in 2005, and her Master’s of Science in Leadership and Human Services from Nova Southeastern University in 2011.
