Miami Dade College Hits The Bull’s Eye With Futuristic Robotic Statue

It’s massive. Over-the-top. And eye-popping.

The Miami Bull—a hulking 3,000-pound, 11-feet tall, crypto-inspired, chrome and fiberglass statue—will sit at the edge of the Wolfson Campus in front of building 1000 with its laser beam-like blue eyes trained directly at N.E. First Ave.

“The bull represents the future and we represent the future,” Miami Dade College President Madeline Pumariega proudly announced during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Miami Bull on April 14.

Modeled after Wall Street’s Charging Bull, the futuristic-looking creation was the talk of the town earlier this month when it was unveiled at the Bitcoin 2022 conference in Miami Beach. Tickets for the event, which was from April 6-9, went for as much as $21,000 for a Whale VIP Pass.

A week later, the Miami Bull, with its gold-colored horns, was once again the belle of the ball but this time at Miami Dade College during the Venture Miami Tech Hiring Fair. The event attracted hundreds of job-seekers with companies like TradeStation, Amazon and OpenStore scouting for local talent.

However, admission to see the menacing bull, in all of its grandeur, at the hiring fair was far less than at the crypto party on the beach—it was free.

The Miami Bull was designed by Furio Tedeschi, a concept artist at Paramount Pictures, who has worked on Transformers 5 and Bumblebee. The statue was commissioned by Tradestation and fabricated by the Hollywood special-effects shop, Onyx Forge.

Forbes magazine estimates its cost to be more than a quarter-million dollars.

Visitors to the open campus have quickly become enamored with the bull. They stop, stare, snap selfies and many have posted messages on social media.

They range from: Wow got [to] go see #miamibull first hand on the MDC Campus to #Crypto bull in #Miami is just super cool or Welcome to Downtown Mr. Bull.

According to MDC officials, the downtown campus will be the Miami Bull’s home for at least a year, so get your smartphones cell phones ready.
