Continuing Education Receives Grant For Adult Education

The School of Continuing Education & Professional Development has received a grant of nearly $1.8 million from the Florida Department of Education.

The grant is the largest adult general education grant ever received by the College, allowing the school to expand its course offerings to the community for additional training and skills.

With the grant the School of Continuing Education also plans on hiring more career advisors to assist adult education students. Nearly 10,000 students enrolled in last years adult education classes.

MDC has received more than $18.1 million in adult general education grant funds during the past 15 years, giving aid to almost 40 adult education instructors and supporting its programs in areas like English for Speakers of Other Languages.
