Sharks Win Big In Home Opener

The Miami Dade College Sharks defeated Dent Academy, 10-1, on Jan. 29 in their home opener. The Sharks scored four runs in the third inning, three in the eighth and one run each in the first, fourth and seventh innings. Catcher Victor Caratini went 2-3 with a double and three RBI. Third baseman Steven Negron added a pair of singles, stole a base, and scored twice. Starting pitcher, Carson Baranik, allowed one run in four innings; relievers, Victor Arche and Marcus Barrios, combined to pitch five scoreless innings.The Sharks are 4-1 on the season.
