PIE2 Offers Certification For First Year Students

MALLs logo.PIE2 is a first year program offered by the Multidisciplinary Academic Learning Lounges (MALLs) helps North Campus students gain certifications through workshops, like Career Exploration, Learning Styles and Student Engagement With Faculty.

“Our programs complement what students are learning in the classroom and extend to other areas of college life,” said Evelyn Rodriguez, the director of the MALLs Grant. “We hope through our workshops students will continue to grow and succeed.”

Participants must attend eight workshops. The courses are divided into four different modules, Career Exploration, Campus Resources and Navigation, Your Academic Growth, and Your Personal Growth. Eight must be completed to obtain the certification.

Workshops count noncredit courses. Students can visit the MALLs’ Sharknet page for information regarding the dates and times of the upcoming workshops. For assistance, email MALLs@mdc.edu or call (305) 237-1664.
