The Wolfsonian Museum at Florida International University located at 1001 Washington Ave. in Miami Beach, has opened its latest exhibition titled The Pursuit of Abstraction, featuring fine and decorative art. The exhibit is open to the public until next April.
“We are questioning what it means to be human,” said Matthew Abess, curator of the museum. “It’s an ongoing question that has been endlessly questioned.”
Each of these pieces deal with the separation of the modern world and embrace uniqueness through spiritual awareness, mythology, psychology and traditional religions such as Christianity and Buddhism. Some of the featured artists include Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Agnes Pelton and Helen Lundeberg
General admission for adults is $10, and $5 for students with identification. Parking is available at city lots, garages and metered street parking.

The museum is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Fridays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. The museum is closed on Wednesdays.
