Jazz bassist David Friesen will perform at the Jazz at Wolfson Presents series on Nov. 9 at noon at the Wolfson Campus Auditorium, 300 N.E. 2nd Ave., Room 1261.

Friesen was born in Tacoma, Wash. and learned to play the bass by himself while deployed in Europe serving in the U.S. army.  He has recorded more than 65 CD’s. Friesen was inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2007.

“It will be original music,” Friesen said. “My music is very rhythmic. It has a lot of colors, harmony, and melody.”

Jazz at Wolfson Presents is a year-long jazz concert series founded in 1998. Admission is free for students and the public. Parking is free only for students at the College’s parking garage.
