FAFSA For The 2017-18 School Year Now Available

Students can now complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This year’s installment requires students to submit their 2015 tax returns. The deadline to file FAFSA in Florida is May 15 of next year, and it’s not expected to change.

Those who submit will now be able to receive a notification on how much financial aid they will receive sooner than in the past. Similarly, institutions will be able to send information on acceptance and scholarships sooner this year.

Miami Dade College offers a variety of resources for FAFSA assistance. Students can visit the Financial Aid office as well as make an appointment with a financial aid advisor for a more intensive session. FAFSA workshops are also offered at every campus. Workshop times, dates and locations can be found on the MDC financial aid website www.mdc.edu/financialaid/

For more information, visit the Department of Education’s website https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/ or call the Federal Student Aid Office at 1 (800) 433-3243.
