Homestead Campus student, Kennashka DeSilva, has been selected as a Future Female Leaders Scholarship Program recipient.
The program, offered by the Executive Women’s Forum, strives to minimize the gender gap in cyber security and introduce female leaders to the Black Hat community.
In addition to the scholarship, DeSilva attended the Black Hat USA conference on Aug. 4-5 in Las Vegas where she was able to learn, network and collaborate with others from the InfoSec community.
“I was very excited that I would be able to attend a second [time] and be able to learn from other industry leaders at the conference,” DeSilva said.
During the past seven years, the EWF has partnered with Black Hat to award 50 Black Hat conference passes to female university students who are passionate about information security.
