The Koubek Center will host the Little Havana Social Club ¡en casa! concert via Facebook Live on Dec. 17 at 9 p.m.
The event will feature R&B sounds combined with Afro-Venezuelan and electronic beats, soulful vocals, and poetry.
“[It’s] an ode to what you call a verbena or fiesta del pueblo, which you see in our Latin American countries,” said Melissa Messulam, general manager of the Koubek Center. “We wanted to recreate that here for our community but obviously with a Miami contemporary twist.”
Presenters will include Teatro Salvaje, an independent theater group; Keba, a Serbian singer who will perform poetry from the group Guitars Over Guns; and Luis Valle (“El Chan Guri”), a Nicaraguan artist.
The event will be hosted by Mr. Pauer, a disk jockey and producer who was nominated for a Latin Grammy.
The event is free and open to the public.
