Lady Shark chosen NJCAA Defensive Volleyball Player of the Week

Miami Dade College volleyball player Yukie Futami won the Defensive Player of the Week award for the State of Florida for games played from September 23 through September 30, according to the National Junior College Athletic Association. Futami, a 21- year-old  outside hitter, from Tokyo, Japan had 101 defensive digs during the week.

“It’s nothing special, I just want to play hard and help my team win,” Futami said. “It’s all about winning a championship with this team.”
