Live Arts Miami To Present Two Climate-Conscious Shows

Live Arts Miami will present the second installment of its LALA Performance Series—a dance show including two climate-conscious pieces—on May 14-15 at 8 p.m.

The shows will take place in the Palm Terrace at the Pérez Art Museum Miami, 1075 Biscayne Blvd. They will feature the work of Live Arts Miami artists-in-residence Sandra Portal-Andreu and Dale Andree.

Portal-Andreu’s CIRCA/MIA is a multimedia performance based on interviews and drawings from more than 35 children who are Miami-Dade County residents. It explores the future awaiting Miami after the current climate crisis from the perspective of children.

Andree’s Such Rooted Things is a dance about coastal South Florida’s fragile ecology. It was conceived after interviewing 10 women who live in Miami-Dade County about the climate change effects they are experiencing in their neighborhoods.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees must register at this link
