MDC Launches Automotive Technician Apprenticeship Program

Miami Dade College partnered with Bean Automotive Group will launch a one-year paid Automotive Technician Registered Apprenticeship Program on July 13.

The year-long program combines classroom instruction and hands-on training at Bean Automotive Group’s West Kendall location. It includes 15 students who are eligible for health insurance, free tuition, books, technical equipment and covered travel expenses.

Upon completion of the program, apprentices will earn a certification in Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and have the option to work at one of the Bean Automotive Groups dealerships.

“[We] hope that once the apprentices complete the program, they will be ASE certified and have a fruitful introductory career with being in the automotive group in the occupation Automotive technician specialist,” said Alexia Q. Rolle, the programs sponsor and MDC’s director of career and technical education.

Although applications for this year’s apprenticeship are closed, more opportunities will come in the future.
