New Dean Of Students At Kendall Campus

Nelson Magaña has been selected as the new dean of students at Kendall Campus. He started on Sept. 24.

As dean, Magaña oversees departments such as the New Student Center, Recruitment, International Student Services, Testing, Retention and Transition, Academic and Career Advisement, ACCESS and Student Life.

Magaña has been with the College since 1992. He most recently served as the director of student services at Hialeah Campus.

Magaña earned his associate of science in photography and an associate of arts in elementary education at North Campus. At Florida International University, he received a bachelor’s in elementary education, a master’s in adult education and a doctorate in adult education and human resource development.

“My vision as Dean of Student Services is to encourage students to go to college full time and to make improvements in relation to students’ success,” Magaña said.
