Gabriela Cardenas was appointed as director of recruitment at North Campus’ New Student Center. She began her post on Oct. 11.
“I am humbled to take on this position to better serve the students,” Cardenas said. “This job allows me to practice my creative mind and apply skills I have developed from my educational career.”
Prior to her role at North Campus, she was a senior staff associate on the pre-college advising team at Hialeah Campus for two years. She has also worked as a college advisor and international student coordinator and advisor at the Eduardo J. Padrón Campus.
Before starting at MDC, Cardenas, 29, served as a global volunteer recruiter at Florida International University, as a cultural representative and English professor at the Spanish Ministry of Education in Spain and as a marketing ambassador at CytoSport in Miami.
Cardenas has a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and a master’s degree in international and comparative education both from FIU.
