Rodriguez Tabbed As Southern Conference Pitcher Of The Year

Sharks right-hander Andy Rodriguez was selected as the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year.

Rodriguez was 10-3 with a 2.45 earned run average and 121 strikeouts in his first year at Miami Dade College. He made two appearances at the state tournament (one start and one out of the bullpen) in Lakeland striking out 14 batters in eight innings and collecting a victory.

The 23-year-old defected from the Cuban National Team in June of 2021. He made the transition from the bullpen to the starting rotation this year at MDC.
