School Of Justice Appoints New Chairperson

Marcia Diaz was selected as the new chairperson of the School of Justice at North Campus on July 3.

Diaz will oversee faculty and staff and manage day-to-day operations at the department.

“I’m excited to see what grants and other opportunities we can bring to our students,” Diaz said.

The 32-year-old previously worked at Florida International University as a Connect4Success manager for 10 months and a transfer coordinator for four years. From 2017 to 2018, she served as a professional coordinator and academic advisor at Wolfson Campus.

Diaz also served as a case manager for a medical services company in Homestead from 2016 to 2017, after working as a graduate teaching assistant at FIU’s Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice for three years.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in justice studies from Rhode Island College in 2013. A year later, she obtained a master’s degree in criminal justice from FlU.
