The 49th Annual Fred Shaw Poetry Contest Accepting Entries

Students can enter the 49th Annual Fred Shaw Poetry Contest until March 19.

The contest was created in honor of Fred Shaw, a poetry aficionado who served as Kendall Campus’ academic dean before passing away on Jan. 2, 1972.

Applicants must submit their poems—accompanied by their name, mailing address, student ID and phone number—via email to the professors below:

The first place winner will receive $100, second place will get $75 and third place will receive $50. In addition, the winner of the Academy of American Poets Awards will receive a $150 prize. Winners will be announced via Sharknet at the end of the spring semester.
