The Reporter Appoints Editor-In-Chief For The 2020-21 School Year

Adriana Dos Santos, who emigrated to the United States in 2017 from Caracas, Venezuela, has been selected as editor-in-chief of The Reporter for the 2020-21 school year.

She replaces Heidi Perez-Moreno, who is studying journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

“This is a challenge I’m ready to take on,” Dos Santos said. “The bar was set incredibly high by our last editor, but I have an amazing team that’s going to help me in this new journey.”

Dos Santos, 19, served as A/E editor last year and was one of the paper’s top news writers.

In the summer of 2017, she was part of the Miami Dade College Summer High School Journalism Institute’s inaugural class—less than six months after arriving in the U.S.—while attending Ronald W. Reagan/Doral Senior High School.

Dos Santos is currently a sophomore in The Honors College at North Campus.
