Urbana Wins Gold Crown Award For Second Year In A Row

The hybrid literary arts magazine at the Eduardo J. Padrón CampusUrbanawon a gold crown for the second straight year from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.

Miambiance, the literary arts magazine at Kendall Campus, was awarded a Silver Crown. 

Both publications were awarded for overall excellence based on work published during the 2020-21 school year.

Winners were announced at the CSPA’s virtual ceremony on March 31.

 “Getting a Gold Crown Award two years in a row solidifies the quality of our publication and validates our work ethic, attention to detail and passion for storytelling,” said Emily Sendin, Urbana’s advisor.

In addition, Urbana also won Gold Circle Individual Awards for Digital Media Essays, Non-Fiction Article, Non-Fiction Column, Photograph-Single Artistic Photograph, Open(free) Form Poetry, and Traditional Fiction.
