Miami Dade College alumnus Diego Rua\u2019s art exhibit, Glass Houses<\/em>, is on display at Homestead Campus, 500 College Terrace, in the D building art space<\/span> until March 17. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Glass Houses<\/em> is a series of portrait paintings of fantastical beings in a monochromatic style, meaning they consist of only one hue of color. <\/span><\/p>\n

Lucas Blanco, a Homestead Campus art professor, believes the paintings reflect an inner reality of uncertainty, felt by many, amidst a stressful election year and its aftermath. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cArtists have long brought forth the temper of the times into material form,\u201d Blanco said. \u201cThis series of paintings strikes me as particularly poignant today.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The exhibition is free and open to the public. However, an appointment is required to visit the gallery. <\/span><\/p>\n
