They can either be scary, exciting, nerve-wracking \u2014or all of them together. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leaving high school and starting college life can be especially overwhelming and emotional as a result of the pressure from taking another great step to get to your own prosperous future. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is when being open to meet diverse and loving colleagues is the best decision you can take to enhance your excitement and have a happier, healthier and full-of-friends journey to success.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I started college approximately two months ago. I never thought that my first friend on campus would be another freshman who was on her first day of college too. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I was too nervous about finding my classes to even acknowledge the fact that I was not the only new student here. Every single one of us was trying to find our way around a place that was not familiar to us. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is when I noticed how essential it was to meet new people so we can help each other \u00a0find our \u00a0way around campus and not feel lost or nervous.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the same time, getting to know people will give you the sensation of belonging. Being able to say \u201chi\u201d to them any time you cross paths or being able to text them if you have a doubt about a specific class, will make you feel like you are fitting in. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You have enabled yourself to become an insider and stopped seeing yourself as an outsider. You are finally accepting change and realizing that you are \u201cadulting\u201d and experiencing a significant change that will lead you to a better life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indeed, we have all experienced loneliness at some point in our lives. However, talking to people and making the effort \u00a0of getting to know them will make you forget about those lonely times. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In no way am I minimizing the strength of being independent because being able to be there for yourself, without needing someone by your side, is a merit not everyone can achieve. Being friendly and communicative is a decision that brings joy and support into your life, which is something you can never have enough of.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Furthermore, college gives us the fascinating opportunity to meet people from various cultures. We have the chance to strike up friendships with people who are totally different or possibly even very similar to us. Plus, it enhances our communication skills for the future (job interviews, for example).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Altogether, it doesn\u2019t matter if you are a first-year student or if you are about to graduate, never underestimate the value of friendship. Give your soul permission to have external and internal support from people. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carry yourself with confidence, and be open to new friendships. Let yourself be approachable. Don\u2019t refuse to meet new people or prevent your heart from loving new friends. Friendship is vital for a human to flourish.
