The ACCESS (A Comprehensive Center for Exceptional Student Services) department hosted Karen Peterson and Dancers: \u201cTwenty Five and Reaching High\u201d at the Wolfson Campus auditorium on Oct. 28 to help raise awareness for Disability Awareness Month. <\/span><\/p>\n

The show featured the performances of Full Circle, Give and Take, GRIT, as well as a question and answer session. The cast made up of Shawn Buller, Katrina Weaver, Juan Maria Seller, Lize-Lotte Pitlo, and John Beauregard and Karen Peterson Corash, who serves as the artistic and executive director for KPD. The group has been a leader in mixed-ability dance since 1990.
\n<\/span>
\nThe ACCESS<\/span><\/a> department at MDC aims to empower students with disabilities and create an equal playing field among students in college. The department also strives to promote awareness about disability issues and college procedures that encourage accessibility and inclusion among students and faculty. The performance by Karen Peterson and Dancers \u00a0kick-started Disability Awareness Month to encourage others to learn more about people with disabilities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
