Jose Gonzalez has been selected as the new public safety chief at Wolfson Campus<\/span><\/a>. He started his position on Aug. 14. <\/span><\/p>\n

Gonzalez<\/span> retired from the law enforcement field with more than 30 years of service. His most recent position was deputy commander with the Miami Police Department<\/span><\/a>\u2019s Special Investigations Section.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMy plans are to ensure and maintain the continued safety of all our students, staff, faculty and visitors, while providing public safety services to the College,\u201d Gonzalez said. \u201cThis endeavor is a top priority as we Segway toward security in the 21<\/span>st<\/span> Century.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

As public safety chief, he will be in charge of providing public safety services, overseeing public safety foot patrols and being a liaison between the public safety department and the MDC community. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
