{"id":13113,"date":"2018-01-26T19:12:39","date_gmt":"2018-01-27T00:12:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mdcthereporter.com\/?p=13113"},"modified":"2020-09-17T13:03:13","modified_gmt":"2020-09-17T17:03:13","slug":"lulus-brings-indie-grove","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mdcthereporter.com\/staging\/8357\/lulus-brings-indie-grove\/","title":{"rendered":"Lulu\u2019s Brings Indie To The Grove"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similar to places like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tgifridays.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">TGI Friday\u2019s<\/span><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.applebees.com\/en\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Applebee\u2019s<\/span><\/a>, Lulu\u2019s in the Grove serves traditional entrees like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdcthereporter.com\/the-burger-that-smashes-all-the-others\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">burgers<\/span><\/a> and steaks, as well as providing a full bar and outdoor seating.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But, unlike those places, the ambiance is ripped out of an indie film. Complete with some mismatched decorations and beautiful chandeliers, It definitely feels a lot more muted compared to the brash style of someplace like Chili\u2019s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The menu has some diverse options, especially when it comes to appetizers. The spinach and artichoke dip contains parmesan and muenster cheese with a side of house made tortilla chips, and an order of the truffle fries. The dip has just the right balance between cheese, spinach and artichoke, and it even having a small, spicy aftertaste. The fries are actually the best part of the entire meal. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the main course, I decided on the turkey burger. This sandwich has ground turkey, manchego and avocado with a side of asparagus (the sides are of your choosing) and an order of the salmon penne, which comes in a light cream sauce with a touch of vodka. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The turkey burger was good, but a little dry, though that was easily fixed by putting some ketchup in the sandwich. The avocado was perfectly ripe, not too soft but not too hard, which can be tricky sometimes because avocados go bad almost instantly. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The asparagus was a thick-cut. Normally I am a huge fan of asparagus, but it lacked flavor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although we were slightly let down by the turkey burger, we proceeded to eat the salmon penne, which I highly recommend. The taste of the salmon doesn\u2019t overpower the cream sauce the penne pasta is mixed with. There was also the perfect amount of salmon in this dish<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not a whole fish, but just two pieces either. The pasta had a lemony zest to it and was delicious to the last bite. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All in all, the food was pretty good and the service was amazing.
