Miami Dade College\u2019s Koubek Center<\/span><\/a>, 2705 S.W. 3rd<\/span> St., will present <\/span>Playtime: Son Jarocho<\/span><\/i> on March 31 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event will host arts, crafts, literary histories, music and dance focusing on son jorocho, a regional folk music and dance style from Veracruz, Mexico. The event is in partnership with Miami\u2019s Ameyal Mexican Cultural Organization, an organization focusing on Mexican culture, and Chicago\u2019s Ida y Vuelta Folkloric Ensemble, which fuses African, Spanish and Indigenous music and poetry from over 300 years ago into new original tunes. A puppet show by Bajal\u00fa, a group under the Ameyal Cultural Organization, will be showcased. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Playtime Series provides children with events to learn Spanish. The event is free and open to the public.<\/span><\/p>\n
