{"id":1466,"date":"2015-03-24T13:24:29","date_gmt":"2015-03-24T17:24:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mdcthereporter.com\/?p=1466"},"modified":"2021-07-28T17:04:46","modified_gmt":"2021-07-28T21:04:46","slug":"mesothelioma-cancer-alliance-offers-4000-scholarship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mdcthereporter.com\/staging\/8357\/mesothelioma-cancer-alliance-offers-4000-scholarship\/","title":{"rendered":"Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance Offers $4,000 Scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance is offering a $4,000 scholarship award to one student each semester whose life has been impacted by cancer. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scholarship is to help provide college students who have battled cancer at any point in their lives, not limited to mesothelioma, or who have a parent, sibling, immediate family member or close friend that has battled or is currently fighting cancer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicants must be enrolled full-time at an accredited two-year or four-year college, must be a U.S citizen, and must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicants must submit a typed essay of 500 to 1,500 words or video submission answering the following questions:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How has cancer affected your life? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How did you overcome this adversity? \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How has cancer affected your outlook on life and personal or career goals? \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How did this adversity shape who you are today? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What would this scholarship mean to you? \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why is it important?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All essays and videos should be submitted no later than March 31 for the fall 2015 semester. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To apply or for additional information visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mesothelioma.com\/scholarship\/\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">www.mesothelioma.com\/scholarship\/<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance is offering a $4,000 scholarship award to one student each semester whose life has been impacted by cancer.
