Nelson Maga\u00f1a has been selected as the new dean of students at Kendall Campus<\/span><\/a>. He started on Sept. 24. <\/span><\/p>\n

As dean, Maga\u00f1a oversees departments such as the New Student Center, Recruitment, International Student Services, Testing, Retention and Transition, Academic and Career Advisement, ACCESS and Student Life.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maga\u00f1a has been with the College since 1992. He most recently served as the director of student services at Hialeah Campus<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Maga\u00f1a earned his associate of science in photography and an associate of arts in elementary education at North Campus. At Florida International University, he received a bachelor\u2019s in elementary education, a master\u2019s in adult education and a doctorate in adult education and human resource development. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMy vision as Dean of Student Services is to encourage students to go to college full time and to make improvements in relation to students\u2019 success,\u201d Maga\u00f1a said.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
