The Udall Foundation is awarding 50 scholarships worth up to $7,000 each. The deadline to apply is Feb. 21. <\/span><\/p>\n

Qualifying students must be pursuing a major related to Native American policy, environmental studies and\/or health care. Any student applying with a Native American policy-related major must have first or second generation lineage to any state or federally recognized tribe or band. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Udall Foundation is meant to honor the legacies of Morris and Stewart Udall whose careers as congressmen had an impact on Native-American self-governance and health care. <\/span><\/p>\n

Applicants must be a US Citizen or permanent resident, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the 2019-2020 academic school year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Students must answer 11 short-essay questions, provide three recommendation letters, their college transcript and write an 800-word essay on how any speech, legislative act, book or public policy statement by Morris or Stewart Udall affected them. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Miami Dade College nominates five students every year. <\/span><\/p>\n
