Students can apply to the recently created Eduardo J. Padr\u00f3n Completion Scholarship through Aug. 16.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The scholarship, a $1,000 prize, will recognize 50 Miami Dade College students whose academic, social and professional lives have improved while attending the College in the midst of obstacles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It was made available through a donation from the City of Miami, who awarded $50,000 to the College to honor retiring president<\/span><\/a> Eduardo J. Padr\u00f3n\u2019s legacy at MDC.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Students must be a U.S Citizen, Miami-Dade County resident, have and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, have completed at least 30 credits toward their degree, have filed their 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid and be enrolled in at least 12 credits for the fall and spring semesters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Applicants must complete a brief questionnaire followed by two short response essay questions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Winners will be announced through email during the week of Aug. 26. They will be honored at a reception on Sept. 6 at Wolfson Campus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
