He will receive a $4,000 prize and admission to the Review Santa Fe Photo Festival in Santa Fe on Oct. 17.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI\u2019m overwhelmed by knowing that I have touched so many lives,\u201d Chirinos said. \u201cNot only in photography, but a lot of [students] also indicated that their lives were touched by my class.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The award recognizes high school, college and postgraduate professors that teach photography around the country. Winners are nominated by students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chirinos earned a bachelor\u2019s in photography from Florida International University in 2001, and a master\u2019s in photography from Columbia University in 2003.
