Melanie Young, a student at North Campus studying early childhood education, has released a children\u2019s book entitled <\/span>Mella\u2019s Lil Adventure.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The book, which was self-published on Oct. 29, illustrates the story of a mixed race native girl named Mella, who aspires to become a teacher. It explores the idea of persistence and resilience in one\u2019s obstacles.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c[The book] had to be lively and imaginative, while holding the attention of the kids,\u201d Young said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Young, 25, is currently president of the Abilities Unlimited, Disabled Student Organization and secretary of the Vegan Club at North Campus<\/span><\/a>. She has worked as a part-time clerk in the Student Life department at North Campus<\/span><\/a> for three years.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She graduated with an associate’s degree in <\/span>exceptional student education<\/span> from Miami Dade College in 2019, and is currently pursuing an associate in science in early childhood education.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
