Andres Quiroga has been selected as the incoming chair of the Arts and Philosophy Department at North Campus<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Quiroga, who began on Jan. 6, oversees the department\u2019s faculty, course offerings and artistic projects.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMore than anything else, I feel responsible for the advocacy of the program now,\u201d Quiroga said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the reasons I took the job is to be a loud and strong advocate for the department.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Quiroga began working at Miami Dade College in 2009 as a theater professor. Aside from MDC, he also served as the artistic director of the theater group, Penn Players, until 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

He earned a bachelor’s degree from New World School of the Arts in 1997, and graduated with a master\u2019s in theatre education and performance from Florida Atlantic University<\/span><\/a> in 2005.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
