Miami Dade College is offering in-state tuition to Puerto Rican students displaced by the recent string of earthquakes that have devastated the territory.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The initiative aims to provide financial assistance to students that qualify for financial aid. It will cover in-state tuition for students after all scholarships and grants have been accounted for.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Applicants must provide documentation showing Puerto Rican descent. Acceptable documents include a voter registration card, driver\u2019s license, vehicle registration and college ID.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Students must then complete an MDC application, complete a Disaster Displacement In-State Tuition Form at <\/span>www.mdc.edu\/disasterhelp\/docs\/prEarthquake.pdf<\/span><\/a> and turn the form into the Admissions and Records Office at any campus along with their documentation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a $30 fee for completing an MDC application.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The College has offered financial assistance to displaced students since Hurricane Maria in 2017<\/span><\/a> in order to ease their burdens amid the aftermath of natural disasters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
